Wide receiver Wes Welker and left guard Logan Mankins were held out of practice Wednesday after suffering injuries during Sunday's game against the Bufallo Bills.

Welker has been dealing with the ankle injury since October but seems to have aggravated it on Sunday.  Mankins left the game after injuring his ankle in the third quarter and did not return.  The ankle can be added to hip and calf injuries that have also kept Mankins off the field for parts of the season.

Defensive end Trevor Scott and lineback Tracey Porter returned to the practice field after missing the last few games.  Both were limited participants.

Also limited were DT Ron Brace (elbow), S Patrick Chung (shoulder/hamstring), S Steve Gregory (hip), LB Dont'a Hightower (hamstring), LB Brandon Spikes (knee), TE Rob Gronkowski (hip), TE Aaron Hernandez (ankle), WR Brandon Lloyd (knee), OL Nick McDonald (shoulder), and OT Sebestian Vollmer (back/knee).

Aqib Talib was on the practice field for the first time with the Patriots after being acquired in a trade with the Bucs on Nov. 1.
