Brandon Spikes Goes Under the Knife

New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes broke the news that on the morning of February 21 he went under the knife. To be more accurate, that would be the scope.

Spikes, who missed seven regular season games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee, tweeted "Surgery this am!!!! (yes, he used four exclamation points). Ya'll pray 4 me please. PoWwWwW." A source considered close to the Patriots confirmed that Spikes had arthroscopic surgery later in the day.

Spikes, who enters his third season in 2012, picked off a critical second half interception in the 2011 American Conference Championship that helped the Patriots advance to the Super Bowl.
